Cruise Control Systems: Operation

Cruise control operation is activated by the main switch and controlled by a steering wheel mounted control switch. To set cruise control, turn main cruise control switch to "ON" position. Accelerate to desired speed and press set switch. Cruise control will engage and the cruise control indicator will light.

To cancel cruise control system, push main switch to "OFF" position. This disengages cruise control and erases set speed from memory. If brake switch, clutch switch, shift position switch or cancel switch is used to disengage system and vehicle speed remains above 30 MPH, system can be re-engaged by pressing the resume switch. The vehicle speed will automatically return to previous set speed.

To increase set speed, depress resume button and hold it until desired set speed is obtained. When switch is released, system will be reprogrammed for new set speed.

To reduce vehicle speed, depress and hold the set switch. This sends a deceleration signal to the control unit, causing the vehicle to coast until set button is released. When desired speed is obtained, release set switch. This will reprogram the system for the new speed.
