Electronic Control Unit (Ecu)
The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is located on passenger's side floorboard, under carpet. The ECU receives input signals (data) from various sensors. The ECU processes input data and sends output signals to the various controlling devices. This allows for precise control of fuel system, ignition system, and emission system.
NOTE:
For ease of understanding, components will be grouped into 2 categories. The first category, INPUT DEVICES, are components which control or produce voltage signals that are monitored by the ECU. The second category, OUTPUT DEVICES, are components that are controlled by the ECU (this is usually accomplished by the ECU grounding individual circuits).
