Throttle Control Cable

NOTE: To taylor the shift/lock-up characteristics to a particular customers driving expectations, you can adjust the control cable up to .118" (3.0 mm) shorter than the "synchronized" point.
NOTE: Before adjusting throttle control cable, remove all free play from inner throttle cable, connecting accelerator pedal to carburetor or throttle body linkage.
  1. With engine idling at normal operating temperature (cooling fan comes on), loosen throttle control cable adjustment lock nuts at transaxle control lever bracket. See Fig 1 .
  2. Adjust lock nuts to synchronize movement of transaxle throttle control lever and carburetor or throttle body throttle lever. Tighten adjustment lock nuts.
NOTE: DO NOT shorten cable (increasing throttle pressure) more than .118" (3.0 mm) from its synchronized position.
