Cruise Control Systems: Operation
The cruise control system will set and automatically maintain at more than 25-30 MPH. To set, ensure main switch is in ON position. Press SET switch after reaching desired speed. Depressing SET switch with cruise control system main switch in ON position will turn CRUISE CONTROL warning light display to come on (if equipped). Pushing main switch to OFF position will cancel the cruise control system.
If system is disengaged temporarily by application of either the brake switch, clutch switch or shift position switch, press RESUME switch. With RESUME switch depressed and the set memory retained, the vehicle automatically returns to previous set speed. Holding RESUME switch will gradually increase vehicle speed. This sends an acceleration signal input to control unit. When switch is released, the system is reprogrammed for the new speed.
For gradual deceleration without depressing brake pedal, push and hold SET switch until desired speed is reached. This will send a deceleration signal input to the control unit. When the desired speed is reached, release SET switch. This will reprogram system for the new speed.
