Diode Assembly
- Remove diode (rectifier) assembly from alternator. Check continuity in both directions (reverse test probes) between terminal "B" and the following terminals: P(1), P(2), P(3) and P(4). Then check for continuity in both directions between terminal "E" (ground) and the following terminals: P(1), P(2), P(3), and P(4). See Fig 1.
- All diodes should show a low continuity reading in one direction and NO continuity in the opposite direction. If any diode does not test as specified, replace entire diode (rectifier) assembly.
