Self-Diagnosis Function

  1. Self-diagnosis function has 5 diagnostic groups. INITIAL DIAGNOSIS group is performed just after engine starts while ABS indicator light is on. REGULAR DIAGNOSIS group is performed just after initial diagnosis starts while ignition switch is in OFF position. EXCEPT ABS CONTROL group is performed when ABS is not operating. DURING ABS CONTROL group is performed when ABS is operating. DURING WARNING group is performed when ABS indicator light is on.
  2. When a problem is detected during self-diagnosis, ABS indicator light is turned on, a DTC is stored in memory and ABS system is changed to either SYSTEM DOWN or CONTROL INHIBITION mode.
  3. During SYSTEM DOWN mode, ABS pump motor relay is not operating, solenoid valve is in drive inhibition, CPU is operating (except during CPU failure) and restart condition occurs when ignition switch is turned from OFF to ON position. During CONTROL INHIBITION mode, ABS pump motor relay is not operating, solenoid valve is in drive inhibition, CPU is operating, and restart condition is automatic.
