Mode Control Motor

CAUTION:
During this procedure, if polarity of test battery is reversed, the mode control motor may be damaged. Also, DO NOT run motor for more than a few seconds.
- Disconnect mode control motor 10-pin connector. Connect battery power to terminal No. 2 and ground terminal No. 1. See Fig 1 . Mode control motor should run smoothly and stop at vent position. If it does not, reverse connections. Mode control motor should run smoothly and stop at defrost position.
- With mode control motor running as outlined in step 1), individually check for continuity between terminals No. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 and terminal No. 10 terminal. There should be continuity for a moment.
- If mode control motor did not run in step 1), remove it and check linkage for smooth operation. If linkage operates smoothly, replace mode control motor.
