Passenger's Multiplex Control Unit
- Remove right kick panel. Remove passenger's multiplex control unit. Disconnect multiplex control unit harness connectors. Inspect connector terminal connection for bent, damaged or corroded terminals. Repair as necessary. If connections are okay, go to next step.
- Using a DVOM, check resistance between passenger's multiplex control unit harness connector terminals D8 (White/Red wire) and D9 (Red/White wire), while rotating dimmer adjustment. See Figure. Reading should be 0-12 k/ohms. If reading is as specified, go to next step. If reading is not as specified, check for faulty dash lights brightness controller, or an open in wiring.
- Connect passenger's multiplex control unit harness connector terminal E10 (Red wire) to ground, with combination light switch in ON position. Dash lights should illuminate to maximum brightness. If dash lights do no illuminate, repair open in Red wire. If dash lights illuminate, go to neat step.
- Check continuity to ground at terminal E20 (Black wire). Continuity to ground should exist at all times. If continuity to ground does not exist, check for an open in Black wire, or a poor connection at harness grounds G401 and G402. Repair as necessary.
