Abs Indicator Light Does Not Come On

  1. Turn ignition on. If ABS indicator light illuminates, go to next step. If ABS indicator light does not illuminate, check for blown fuse No. 25 (7.5-amp), located in underdash fuse/relay box. If fuse No. 25 (7.5-amp) is blown, all indicator lights except charging system light will not come on. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and recheck ABS indicator light. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect gauge assembly 5-pin connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and gauge assembly 5-pin connector terminal No. 5 (Yellow wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check for an open in Yellow wire between fuse No. 25 (7.5-amp) and gauge assembly. If problem exits, repair Yellow wire. If problem does not exist, replace underdash fuse/relay box.
  3. Check ABS indicator light bulb in gauge assembly. If bulb is blown, replace bulb. If bulb is okay, measure voltage between ground and gauge assembly 5-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Blue/Red wire). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, repair short to power in Blue/Red wire between gauge assembly and ABS control unit.
  4. Turn ignition off. Reconnect gauge assembly 5-pin connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between ground and gauge assembly 5-pin connector terminal No. 3 (Black wire) by backprobing. Turn ignition on. If ABS indicator light illuminates, go to next step. If ABS indicator light does not illuminate, replace ABS indicator light drive circuit in gauge assembly.   5. Repair open in Black wire between gauge assembly and ground. Ground points are located behind left kick panel and right kick panel.
