Hatch Lock Actuator/Latch Switch/Unlock Switch
- Open rear hatch and remove trim panel. Disconnect hatch lock 6-pin connector. See Fig 1
. Using fused jumper wires to test actuator, connect battery voltage to terminal No. 4. Connect ground to terminal No. 5. Actuator should move to unlock position. Connect battery voltage to terminal No. 5 and ground to terminal No. 4. Actuator should move to lock position. If actuator operates as specified, go to next step. If actuator does not operate as specified, replace hatch lock actuator/latch switch/unlock switch.
- Using DVOM, check for continuity between hatch lock actuator/latch switch/unlock switch connector terminals No. 3 and 6. See Fig 1
. With hatch open, continuity should exist. With hatch closed, continuity should not exist. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace hatch lock actuator/latch switch/unlock switch.
- Check for continuity between hatch lock actuator/latch switch/unlock switch connector terminals No. 1 and 2. See Fig 1
. With hatch unlocked, continuity should exist. With hatch locked, continuity should not exist. If continuity is not as specified, replace hatch lock actuator/latch switch/unlock switch.
