Brush Holder Test

Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between positive brush (A) and negative brush (B). If there is continuity, replace the brush holder assembly. See Fig 1 (2.3L - M/T) or Fig 2 (2.3L - A/T & 3.0L).
Measure brush length. If it is shorter than the service limit, replace the brush holder assembly. See Fig 3.
