Power Tailgate Outside Handle Switch Test/Replacement

Remove the tailgate trim panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TAILGATE AREA ).
Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the power tailgate outside handle switch (B).

Check for continuity between the tailgate outside handle switch 2P connector No. 1 and No. 2 terminals.
- There should be continuity when the tailgate outside handle is pulled.
- There should be no continuity when the tailgate outside handle is released.
If the continuity check is not as specified, remove the two nuts, then remove the tailgate trim (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TAILGATE AREA ), and the switch.
