Oil Pan Removal

  1. If the engine is already out the vehicle, go to step  6
  2. Raise the vehicle on a hoist to full height.
  3. Drain the engine oil (see ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT ).
  4. Remove the splash shield (see step 29 in ENGINE REMOVAL ).
  5. Remove exhaust pipe A (see step 33 in ENGINE REMOVAL ).
  6. Remove the torque converter cover (A) and the two bolts (B) securing the transmission.

  7. Remove the bolts securing the oil pan.
  8. Using a flat blade screwdriver, separate the oil pan from the block in the places shown in Fig 2 .

  9. Remove the oil pan.
