SYMPTOM
While driving, the navigation map screen momentarily reverses from a white background with black roads to a black background with white roads.
PROBABLE CAUSE
There is a problem in the color scheme refreshing task of the navigation screen software.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Download the corrective patch CD into the navigation system, and then reinstall the customer's navigation DVD-ROM.
- This patch disk works only with DVDs stamped 2.05a or earlier.
- This patch CD does not update the database or map coverage area. For the newest city coverage information and navigation DVD-ROMs, refer to the Honda website, www.honda.com.
PARTS INFORMATION
Each dealer will be automatically sent one patch CD. If you lose the patch CD, please call navigation DVD orders toll-free number, and ask for Navigation Patch CD 2.05b.

Out of warranty: Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
- Slide the front passenger's seat to the rear.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Open the front cover of the navigation unit. See Fig 1 .
- Press the EJECT button, and remove the customer's DVD-ROM. Check if is 2.05a or earlier. If it is not, the update is not needed. If it is 2.05a or earlier, go to step 5.
- Insert the patch disk with the writing side up. Close the front cover.
- Check that the navigation screen goes black for several seconds.
- Turn off the ignition switch, and slide the passenger's seat forward.
- Remove the navigation unit cover and attach the SCS service connector to the navigation service check connector (located behind the navigation unit). See Fig 2 .
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Verify that the "Diagnosis" menu for the picture diagnosis starts up and then changes to the "System Links" menu. Touch the "Return" icon on the screen to access the "Diagnostic" menu.
- From the "Diagnostic" menu, touch the "Unit Check" icon.
- From the "Unit Check" menu, touch the "Force Download" icon.NOTE: Do not touch any other "Diagnostic" menu icons; doing so could result in the loss of the customer's personal data.
- After the download is complete, remove the SCS service connector.
- When you see a "Database Error" message displayed on the navigation screen, remove the patch disk from the navigation unit. Re-insert the customer's DVD-ROM disk.
- Verify that the navigation system works properly by test-driving the vehicle to a programmed driving destination you select.
- Return the patch disk and installation instructions to the jewel case, and retain it for the next use.
