Hood Latch Replacement

NOTE:

Remove the front grille cover (see FRONT GRILLE COVER REPLACEMENT ).
Remove the bolts, then remove the hood latch (A) from the body.

Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood latch (B). Take care not to bend the cable.

Install the hood latch in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply multipurpose grease to the location of the hood latch indicated by the arrows in Fig 3.
- Make sure the hood opener cable is connected properly.
- Make sure the cable actuates the latch before you close the hood.
- Adjust the hood latch alignment (see step 3 on HOOD ADJUSTMENT ).
- Make sure the hood opens properly and locks securely.
