Security Indicator Does Not Work Properly

NOTE:
- The system will not operate without the 5-digit security (anti-theft) code.
- Before troubleshooting, make sure you have the anti-theft code.
- Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait for 3 minutes.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.
Does the security indicator (LED) on (blink)?
YES -Go to next step.
NO -
- With navigation system: Substitute a known-good audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ). If the system is still present, replace the audio-navigation switch panel (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Without navigation system: Substitute a known-good audio unit (see WITHOUT NAVIGATION SYSTEM ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio unit (see WITHOUT NAVIGATION SYSTEM ). If the symptom is still present, replace the audio switch panel (see AUDIO SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Enter the 5-digit security (anti-theft) code.
Is the security indicator (LED) off?
YES -The audio unit is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at the audio unit and the audio-navigation switch panel or the audio switch panel.
NO -
- With navigation system: Substitute a known-good audio-navigation switch panel (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio-navigation switch panel (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ). If the system is still present, replace the audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Without navigation system: Substitute a known-good audio switch panel (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio switch panel (see AUDIO SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ). If the system is still present, replace the audio unit (see WITHOUT NAVIGATION SYSTEM ).
