Tailgate Lock Actuator Test

Open the tailgate.
Remove the tailgate trim panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TAILGATE AREA ).
Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the tailgate lock actuator (B).

Check actuator operation by connecting power and ground according to Fig 2. To prevent damage to the actuator, apply battery voltage only momentarily.

If the actuator does not operate as specified, replace it.
