Starter Removal and Installation: Removal

Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the audio system, and that the ignition switch is OFF.
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Remove the dipstick (A) and the dipstick tube (B).

Raise the vehicle on the lift, and make sure it is supported securely.
Remove the splash shield (see step 24 on ENGINE REMOVAL ).
Disconnect the starter cable (A) from the B terminal, then disconnect connector (B) from the S terminal.

Remove the water hose clamp (C).
Remove the upper mounting bolt (D) and the lower mounting bolt (E), then remove the starter.
