Section 47 (Air Conditioning): Condenser: Installation

  1. INSTALL COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the claw and install the condenser upper bracket LH.
    2. Engage the claw and install the condenser upper bracket RH.
    3. Engage the claw and install the condenser lower bracket LH.
    4. Engage the claw and install the condenser lower bracket RH.

    5. Lift the condenser up from the rear side of the vehicle, and install the condenser lower brackets onto the upper part of the radiator lower supports with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf)

  2. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the pipe and the connecting part of the cooler condenser assembly.
    2. Apply sufficient compressor oil to a new seal washer and the fitting surface of the pipe joint.

      Compressor oil: RL-897 or equivalent 

    3. Install the seal washer onto the air conditioning tube assembly.
    4. Install the air conditioning tube assembly onto the cooler condenser assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf)

  3. INSTALL DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the hose and the connecting part of the cooler condenser assembly.
    2. Apply sufficient compressor oil to a new seal washer and the fitting surface of the hose joint.

      Compressor oil: RL-897 or equivalent 

    3. Install the seal washer onto the discharge hose sub-assembly.
    4. Install the discharge hose sub-assembly onto the cooler condenser assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf)

  4. INSTALL RADIATOR ASSEMBLY (for 2TR-FE) (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. INSTALL RADIATOR ASSEMBLY (for 1GR-FE) (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  6. INSTALL FAN SHROUD (for 2TR-FE) (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. INSTALL FAN SHROUD (for 1GR-FE) (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  8. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL LH (for 2TR-FE) (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  9. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL LH (for 1GR-FE) 
  10. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Torque: 3.9 N*m (40 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf) 

  12. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (for 2TR-FE) (See  COOLANT  ) 
  13. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (for 1GR-FE) (See  COOLANT  ) 
  14. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE (for 2TR-FE) (See  COOLANT  ) 
  15. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE (for 1GR-FE) (See  COOLANT  ) 
  16. CHARGE REFRIGERANT (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  17. WARM UP ENGINE (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  18. CHECK FOR REFRIGERANT LEAKAGE (See  REPLACEMENT   )
