The engine pings during moderate to heavy acceleration.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The knock sensor may have been damaged during engine assembly.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Replace the knock sensor:
   • Refer to page 11-314 of the 2007-2008 Odyssey Service Manual  , or
   • Online, enter keyword KNOCK,  and select Knock Sensor Replacement  from the list.
2. Drive the vehicle using moderate to heavy acceleration to verify that the engine doesn't ping anymore.
