A/T Gear Position Indicator Panel Assembly Replacement

NOTE:
  • The A/T gear position indicator panel, the A/T gear position indicator panel bracket, and the lever cover are not available separately. Replace the A/T gear position indicator panel, the A/T gear position indicator panel bracket, and the lever cover as a set.
  • Make sure not to get any silicone grease on the terminal part of the connectors and switches, especially if you have silicone grease on your hands or gloves.
  1. Remove the shift lever assembly (see SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL  ).
  2. Wrap the end of a flat-tip screwdriver with tape, pry off the D3 switch cover lock, and remove the D3 switch cover (A).

  3. Remove the D3 switch (A) by expanding its locks (B). Remove the screws (C), the shift lever button (D), the button spring (E), the shift lever knob (F), and the shift lever knob cover (G).

  4. Remove the shift lever rod (A), and remove the A/T gear position indicator panel light socket (B).

  5. Remove the A/T gear position indicator panel assembly (C).
  6. Disassemble these items:
    • A/T gear position indicator panel (A)
    • Lever cover (B)
    • Shift lock release (C)
    • Release spring (D)
    • Shift lock release link (E)
    • Shift lock release lid (F)

  7. Apply silicone grease to the shift lock release, the release spring, and the shift lock release link.
  8. Install the shift lock release, the release spring, and the shift lock release link in a new A/T gear position indicator panel bracket (G), then install a new lever cover and a new A/T gear position indicator panel on the panel bracket. Install the shift lock release lid.
  9. Install the A/T gear position indicator panel assembly (A) on the shift lever bracket.

  10. Apply silicone grease to the shift lever rod. Point the bevel (B) of the shift lever rod (C) toward the threaded hole (D), and push it into the bottom.
  11. Install the A/T gear position indicator panel light socket (E) in the indicator panel.
  12. Point the bevel (A) of the shift lever rod (B) toward the threaded holes (C), and push it into the bottom. Apply silicone grease to top of the rod.

  13. Install the shift lever knob cover (D).
  14. Apply silicone grease to the shift lever button (E) and button spring (F), then install the spring, the shift lever button, and the shift lever knob (G).
  15. Install the shift lever knob to the shift lever with new screws.
  16. Install the D3 switch (H) and the D3 switch cover (I).
  17. Install the shift lever assembly (see SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION  ).
