DTC 76: Lateral Acceleration Sensor (Software)
NOTE:
If DTC 76 is accompanied with any of the following DTCs, troubleshoot DTC 76 last.
DTC 25: Yaw Rate Sensor (Hardware)
DTC 26: Lateral Acceleration Sensor (Hardware)
DTC 72: Steering Angle Sensor
DTC 74: Yaw Rate Sensor (Software)
DTC 75: Lateral Acceleration Sensor (Joint Failure)
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS (see HOW TO RETRIEVE DTCS ).
- Test-drive the vehicle in a straight line.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS (see HOW TO RETRIEVE DTCS
).
Does the VSA indicator come on, and is DTC 76 indicated?
YES -Go to step 5.
NO -Intermittent failure; the most probable cause is that the vehicle has been driven on an extreme canted road. The system is OK at this time.
- Substitute a known-good yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor (see STEERING ANGLE SENSOR CENTER POINT WRITING ).
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS (see HOW TO RETRIEVE DTCS ).
- Test-drive the vehicle in a straight line.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS (see HOW TO RETRIEVE DTCS
).
Does the VSA indicator come on, and is DTC 76 indicated?
YES -Replace the VSA modulator-control unit (see VSA MODULATOR-CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ).
NO -Replace the original yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor (see STEERING ANGLE SENSOR CENTER POINT WRITING ).
