Camshaft Position Sensor: Inspection

  1. INSPECT CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR 
    1. Check the resistance.
      1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard 

        STANDARD REFERENCE CHART

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        1 (G+) - 2 (G-) 835 to 1,400 Ω at COLD
        1 (G+) - 2 (G-) 1,060 to 1,645 Ω at HOT

        HINT:

        Cold and Hot mean the temperature of the coils themselves. Cold is from -10 to 50°C (14 to 122°F) and Hot is from 50 to 100°C (122 to 212°F).

        If the result is not as specified, replace the camshaft position sensor.
