Tailgate Outer Handle Switch Test/Replacement

  1. Remove the tailgate lower trim panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TAILGATE AREA ).
  2. Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the tailgate outer handle switch.

  3. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position to the table.

  4. If the continuity is not as specified, remove the two nuts (A) and replace the tailgate outer handle switch (B).

  5. Install the switch in the reverse order of removal.
