How to Check the HandsFreeLink System Condition

NOTE:
  • Check the vehicle battery condition first (see 12 VOLT BATTERY TEST ).
  • The self-diagnostic function can only be initiated while the HFL is in its idle state.
  • The self-diagnostic function can only be initiated while the HandsFreeLink control unit is in its idle state.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2. Press and hold the HANG UP button (A) or the HFL BACK button (B) for more than 5 seconds.

  3. When the HFL system enters the self-diagnostic function, the following will occurs:
    • Without navigation: If the system has not completed testing for HFL DTCs, HandsFreeLink Self Diagnosis in progress... is displayed on the audio display.
    • If the HFL is OK, and there are no HFL DTCs, the HFL system says, "The HFT is OK."
    • If there are any HFL DTCs stored, the HFL system says, "The HFT is NG."
