AC Inverter Unit Input Test/Replacement
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ).
- Remove the left rear side trim panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - REAR SIDE AREA ).
- Disconnect the 14P connector (A) from the AC inverter unit (B).
- Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, go to step 6.
- With the connector still disconnected, do the following input tests:
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 7.
AC INVERTER UNIT INPUT TEST RESULTCavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained 1 YEL Under all conditions Check for continuity between terminal No. 1 and power outlet 3P connector terminal No. 1: There should be continuity. An open or high resistance in the wire 3 WHT Under all conditions Check for continuity between terminal No. 3 and power outlet 3P connector terminal No. 3: There should be continuity. An open or high resistance in the wire - Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ).
- Reconnect the connector, and do the following input tests:
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, replace the AC inverter unit.
AC INVERTER UNIT INPUT TEST RESULTCavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained 8 LT GRN Ignition switch ON (II) Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.- Blown No. C26 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under dash fuse/relay box
- Faulty IG2 cut relay
- An open or high resistance in the wire
2 GRN Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery- Blown No. E15 (30 A) fuse in the rear fuse box
- An open or high resistance in the wire
4 BLK In all ignition switch positions Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be less than 0.2 V.- Poor ground (G602)
- An open or high resistance in the ground wire
