Front Inner Fender Replacement
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the body.
- For some models: Remove the side sill panel (see SIDE SILL PANEL REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the front inner fender (A).
- Canada model without side sill panels: On the back of the wheel arch, remove the screws (B), release the adhesive tape (C) from the body, and remove the front splash guard (D).
- From under the front bumper (E), remove the screws (F) securing the front bumper, the splash shield (G), and the front inner fender.
- Remove the clip (H) securing the front bumper and the front inner fender.
- From the wheel arch, remove the clips (I, J, K, L).
- Release the hook (M) on the splash shield, then remove the front inner fender.
NOTE: To release the clips H, I, pry up on the center pin at the notch (N). - Canada model without side sill panel: Prepare the front splash guard for installation by removing any remaining adhesive tape. Clean the bonding surface with a shop towel dampened in isopropyl alcohol. Apply primer to the front splash guard, then attach new adhesive tape.
Adhesive tape:
Thickness 1.2 mm (0.047 in.)
Width 10 mm (0.39 in.)
Length 60 mm (2.4 in.)
- Install the inner fender in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips and the hook into place securely.
- Canada model without side sill panel: Fasten the front splash guard mounting screws in the sequence shown. Push the splash guard (A) against the body to make the adhesive (B) stick securely.
