MICU Input Test (2013)

NOTE:
  • Refer to the Electrical Wiring Diagrams for the location of the under-dash fuse/relay box connectors.
  • Before testing, check for DTCs. If any DTCs are indicated, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

2. Disconnect under-dash fuse/relay box connectors D, E, P, and R .

NOTE: All connector views are shown from the wire side of the female terminals.

3. Inspect the connectors and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:

4. With the connectors still disconnected, do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
R9 BLU Disconnect the gauge control module connector A (32P) Check for continuity between terminal R9 and gauge control module connector A (32P) terminal No. 31: There should be continuity.
  • An open or high resistance in the B-CAN wire
  • Faulty center junction box
  • Faulty driver's junction box
R10 PNK Check for continuity between terminal R10 and gauge control module connector A (32P) terminal No. 30: There should be continuity.
R9*1 BLU Disconnect climate control unit 32P connector Check for continuity between terminal R9 and climate control unit 32P connector terminal No. 30: There should be continuity.
  • An open or high resistance in the B-CAN wire
  • Faulty center junction box
R10*1 PNK Check for continuity between terminal R10 and climate control unit 32P connector terminal No. 32: There should be continuity.
R9 BLU Disconnect the power window master switch 37P connector Check for continuity between terminal R9 and power window master switch 37P connector terminal No. 30: There should be continuity.
  • An open or high resistance in the B-CAN wire
  • Faulty center junction box
R10 PNK Check for continuity between terminal R10 and power window master switch 37P connector terminal No. 28: There should be continuity.
R9*2 BLU Disconnect the automatic lighting control unit/sensor 7P connector Check for continuity between terminal R9 and automatic lighting control unit/sensor 7P connector terminal No. 7: There should be continuity.
  • An open or high resistance in the B-CAN wire
  • Faulty center junction box
  • Faulty driver's junction box
R10*2 PNK Check for continuity between terminal R10 and automatic lighting control unit/sensor 7P connector terminal No. 6: There should be continuity.
R9*3 BLU Disconnect audio unit connector A (24P) Check for continuity between terminal R9 and audio unit connector A (24P) terminal No. 2: There should be continuity.
  • An open or high resistance in the B-CAN wire
  • Faulty center junction box
R10*3 PNK Check for continuity between terminal R10 and audio unit connector A (24P) terminal No. 4: There should be continuity.
R9*4 BLU Disconnect the power seat control unit connector B (20P) Check for continuity between terminal R9 and power seat control unit connector B (20P) terminal No. 17: There should be continuity.
  • An open or high resistance in the B-CAN wire
  • Faulty center junction box
  • Faulty driver's junction box
R10*4 PNK Check for continuity between terminal R10 and power seat control unit connector B (20P) terminal No. 16: There should be continuity.
R9 BLU Disconnect the immobilizer control unit 7P connector Check for continuity between terminal R9 and immobilizer control unit 7P connector terminal No. 5: There should be continuity.
  • An open or high resistance in the B-CAN wire
  • Faulty center junction box
R10 PNK Check for continuity between terminal R10 and immobilizer control unit 7P connector terminal No. 4: There should be continuity
R12 LT BLU Under all conditions Check for continuity between terminal R12 and data link connector (DLC) terminal No. 7: There should be continuity.
  • An open or high resistance in the K-LINE wire
  • Faulty center junction box

*2: With automatic lighting

*3: With audio

*4: With DPMS

5. Reconnect the connectors to the under-dash fuse/relay box, and do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
E23 WHT Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. A21 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • Faulty under-hood fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
E6 BLK In all ignition switch positions or all power modes Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G401)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
D3 BLK In all ignition switch positions or all power modes Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G601)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
D30 BLK In all ignition switch positions or all power modes Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G601)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
P1 BLK In all ignition switch positions or all power modes Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G501)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
