Navigation cannot control HVAC by voice command
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST ).
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Verify that the correct audio-navigation unit is installed for this model. Go into the Version .
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Connect the HDS to the DLC (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ).
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
- Check for DTCs.
Are there any DTCs indicated?
YES -Troubleshoot and repair all CAN related DTCs, and recheck.
NO -Go to step 5.
- Check the hard error code (see HOW TO CHECK ERROR HISTORY (NAVIGATION DTCS)
).
Are there any hard codes stored?
YES -Refer to the hard error code troubleshooting.
NO -Go to step 6.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector E (20P) and climate control unit connector A (36P).
- Check for continuity between audio-navigation unit connector E (20P) terminals No. 6 and No. 15 and climate control unit connector A (36P) terminals No. 1 and No. 19 respectively.Fig 1: Checking Continuity Between Audio-Navigation Unit Connector E (20P) Terminals No. 6 And 15 And Climate Control Unit Connector A (36P) Terminals No. 1 And 19

Is there continuity?
YES -Go to step 9.
NO -Repair an open in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the climate control unit.
- Substitute and a known-good climate control unit (see
CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
). Reconnect all connectors, and recheck.
Does the symptom go away?
YES -Replace the original climate control unit (see CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
NO -Replace the audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
