Motor Test

NOTE: SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ), and precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or servicing.
  1. Remove the driver's seat (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  2. Disconnect the 8P connector (A) from the driver's seat wire harness.

  3. Test the motor by applying battery power and ground to the terminals.
    Terminal 1 2
    Position
    Forward (-) (+)
    Backward (+) (-)
  4. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, check for an open or high resistance in the wire between the 8P connector and the lumbar support motor. If the harness is OK, replace the lumbar support motor (see FRONT SEAT LUMBAR SUPPORT REPLACEMENT ).
