Speaker Check Mode

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2014 Honda Ridgeline, 2013 Honda Ridgeline, 2012 Honda Ridgeline, 2011 Honda Ridgeline, and 2010 Honda Ridgeline. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
  • Not all self-diagnostic functions appear on all models.
  • There may be other self-diagnostic functions that are for factory use only.
  • In some cases, you may not be able to enter a mode even if the designated button in pressed. In that case, try again.
  • If no sound is heard from speakers, go to No sound is heard from the speaker(s) (see NO SOUND IS HEARD FROM THE SPEAKER(S) (DISPLAY IS NORMAL) )
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2. Make sure the audio system is turned off.
  3. Push and hold the No. 1 and No. 3 buttons.
  4. While holding the buttons, push the PWR knob to on.
  5. Release the buttons and the speaker check mode begins. A tone test should sound from one speaker as indicated on the display.
  6. Each time you press the SEEK/SKIP button, the test moves to the next speaker in the order listed in the table.
    NOTE: Adjust the volume level to a comfortable level.

      Speaker Displayed Segments Remarks
    1 Driver's door speaker and left tweeter SPK FR-L You should hear a low frequency tone
    2 Front Passenger's door speaker and right tweeter SPK FR-R You should hear a low frequency tone
    3 Right rear speaker SPK RR-R You should hear a low frequency tone
    4 Left rear speaker SPK RR-L You should hear a low frequency tone

    • The subwoofer does not sound atone
    NOTE: Any other diagnostic screens are shown for factory use only.

  7. The speaker check mode ends when you turn the audio system off or turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
    NOTE: The volume level remains at the same level when you did the speaker test. If you turned the volume up to do the speaker check mode test, return the volume to its normal level.
