Key Interlock Solenoid Test

- Remove the steering column covers.
- Disconnect the steering lock assembly 6P connector (A) and then turn the ignition switch to ACC (I).
- Connect battery boltage to terminal No. 4 of the steering lock assembly and ground terminal No. 3, then try turning the ignition switch to LOCK (0); the ignition switch should not turn.
- Disconnect the power and ground from terminals, then turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and remove the key; the ignition switch should turn and the key can be removed.
- If the key interlock solenoid does not work as specified, replace the steering lock assembly (see STEERING COLUMN INSPECTION ).
