Audio Disc Does Not Load

NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Disc labels should not be used in the audio unit. They may damage the player mechanism.
- Make sure the disc is compatible with the system (see the owner's manual for more information).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Turn on the audio unit and insert known-good disc to see if the symptom can be duplicated.
Does the disc load?
YES - Operation is normal. If the disc loads normally, but will not play, go to AUDIO DISC DOES NOT PLAY ). ■
NO - Go to step 3.
- Insert another disc.
Does the disc load?
YES - The original disc is faulty. ■
NO - Go to step 4.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Remove the No. 17 (20A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and wait for 5 minutes, then reinstall the fuse.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Turn on the audio unit, and insert known-good disc to see if the symptom can be duplicated.
Does the disc load?
YES - Intermittent failure. Operation is normal. ■
NO - Replace the audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ). ■
