Rearview Camera Image Does Not Come On or Work Properly
- Check the vehicle battery condition first.
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Before troubleshooting, make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the navigation system.
- After troubleshooting, enter the anti-theft codes for the navigation system.
- Verify that the correct navigation unit is installed for this model. Go into the Diagnostic mode, and use VERSION .
- Make sure that the correct navigation DVD color and version are installed.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and start the engine.
Does the Navigation screen come on and show an image when the vehicle is started?
YES - Go to step 2.
NO - Go to troubleshooting for No picture is displayed (see SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING ). ■
- Go into the diagnostic menu and use the Navi System Link test (see SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC MODE
) to check the connection between the navigation unit and the rearview camera.
Is the R-camera link on the screen?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Go to step 14.
- Confirm the system connection.
Is the R-camera link red on the screen?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - Go to Car Status and check the BACK-Reverse indication status (see YAW RATE TUNING ). ■
- Check the connections between navigation display unit 28P connector and the rearview camera 6P connector.
Are the connections OK?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Reconnect the connectors. ■
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Disconnect navigation display unit 28P connector and rearview camera 6P connector.
- Check for continuity between the navigation display unit 28P connector and the rearview camera 6P connector according to the table below.NAVIGATION UNIT CONNECTOR REFERENCE TABLE

YES - Go to step 8.
NO - Open in the wire between the navigation display unit 28P connector and the rearview camera 6P connector. Replace the affected shielded harness. ■

YES - Short to body ground in the wire(s) between the navigation display unit 28P connector and the rearview camera 6P connector. Replace the affected shielded harness. ■
NO - Go to step 9.
- Check for continuity between the terminals of navigation display unit 28P connector according to the table below.TERMINAL REFERENCE TABLE

YES - Short in the wires between the navigation display unit 28P connector and the rearview camera 6P connector. Replace the affected shielded harness. ■
NO - Go to step 10.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and measure the voltage between the navigation display unit 28P connector and body ground according to the table below.NAVIGATION UNIT CONNECTOR REFERENCE TABLE
Navigation display unit connector Wire color 11 GRY 12 GRN 13 BLU 26 WHT 27 RED 28 YEL Is there more than 0.2 V?
YES - Short to power in the wires between the navigation display unit 28P connector and the rearview camera 6P connector. Replace the affected shielded harness. ■
NO - Go to step 11.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Reconnect the rearview camera 6P connector and the navigation display unit 28P connector.
- Substitute and connect a known-good navigation unit and check the rearview camera image in reverse.
Is the rear view image OK?
YES - Replace the original navigation unit (see NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ). ■
NO - Replace the rearview camera (see REARVIEW CAMERA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ). ■
- Press the Return in the upper light corner of the screen to return the main menu, then go to VERSION .
- Check the model code that is displayed.
Is the correct navigation unit model code displayed for this vehicle?
YES - Go to step 16.
NO - The wrong navigation unit is installed. Replace the navigation unit with the correct part. ■
- Remove the navigation DVD from the navigation unit (see DVD-ROM REPLACEMENT
) and check the label color of the DVD.
Is the DVD disc label white (or possibly gray for Canada)?
YES - Reinsert the navigation DVD, and go to step 1.
NO - Replace the navigation DVD with the correct color. See OBTAINING A NAVIGATION DVD . ■
