Front Seat Frame Replacement

- Check the operation of the driver's seat position sensor after any of these actions (see
DRIVER'S SEAT POSITION SENSOR OPERATION CHECK
):
- Driver's seat position sensor replacement
- Cover plate (front side of driver's seat slide rail) replacement
- Do the front passenger's weight sensor initialization (see FRONT PASSENGER'S WEIGHT SENSOR INITIALIZATION ) after front passenger's seat frame replacement.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Apply oil to the pivot areas of the slide locks.
- Apply multipurpose grease to the sliding areas of the seat tracks.
- If the side airbag has deployed, replace the seat frame and related parts with new ones (see COMPONENT REPLACEMENT/INSPECTION ).
- Remove the front seat (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Remove these items:
- Front seat-back cover/pad (see FRONT SEAT-BACK COVER REPLACEMENT )
- Front seat cushion cover/pad (see FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER REPLACEMENT )
- Front seat belt buckle (see FRONT SEAT BELT BUCKLE )
- Front seat recline motor (see FRONT SEAT RECLINE MOTOR REPLACEMENT )
- Front seat slide motor (see FRONT SEAT SLIDE MOTOR REPLACEMENT )
- Detach the clip and release the hook (A), then remove the outer height cover (B).
- Driver's seat: Detach the clips (A, B), then remove the inner height cover (C).

Manual height adjustable seat
- Gently pull out the rear outer foot cover (A) to release the hook (B) and the clips, then remove it.
- Gently pull out the rear area of the front outer foot cover (A) to detach the clip and release the hooks (B), then remove it.
- Release the hooks (A), then remove the front inner foot cover (B).
- Release the hooks (A) and the clip, then remove the rear inner foot cover (B).
- Remove the screws, then remove the rear recline inner cover (A) and the rear recline outer cover (B) from the seat frame (C).
- Install the seat components on the new seat frame in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the ODS unit and motor connectors are plugged in properly.
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips into place securely.
