MICU Input Test: MICU

  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  2. Remove the driver's kick panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS ).
  3. Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connectors E, F, G, H, and P.
    NOTE: All connector views are wire side of female terminals.

  4. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
    • If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
    • If the terminals look OK, go to step 5.
  5. With the connectors still disconnected, do the following input tests:
    • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
    • If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 6.

      H10 BLU Power window master switch 37P connector disconnected Check for continuity between terminal H10 and power window master switch 37P connector terminal No. 30:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      H5 PNK Check for continuity between terminal H5 and power window master switch 37P connector terminal No. 28:
      There should be continuity-

      H5 PNK Check for continuity between terminal H5 and climate control unit or HVAC control unit connector A (28P) terminal No. 26:

      H10(1) BLU Audio-navigation unit connector D(14P) disconnected Check for continuity between terminal H10 and audio-navigation unit connector D (14P) terminal No. 16:
      There should be continuity.

      H5(1) PNK Check for continuity between terminal H5 and audio-navigation unit connector D (14P) terminal No. 5:
      There should be continuity.

      H10(2) BLU Audio unit connector D (14P) disconnected Check for continuity between terminal H10 and audio unit connector D (14P) terminal No. 13:
      There should be continuity.

      H10(4) BLU Seat heater control unit 14P connector disconnected Check for continuity between terminal H10 and seat heater control unit 14P connector terminal No. 10:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      H5(4) PNK Check for continuity between terminal H5 and seat heater control unit 14P connector terminal No. 11:

      An open in the B-CAN wire
      H10(8) BLU Right power sliding door control unit connector B (16P) disconnected Check for continuity between terminal H10 and right power sliding door unit connector B (16P) terminal No. 14:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      H5(8) PNK right power sliding door control unit connector B (16P) terminal No. 12:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      H10 BLU Disconnect these connectors:
      • Immobilizer-keyless control unit 7P connector
      • Gauge control module 32P connector
      • Power window master switch 37P connector
      • Climate control unit or HVAC control unit connector A (28P)
      • Audio-navigation unit connector D (14P)(1)
      • Audio unit connector D (14P)(2)
      • Right power sliding door control unit connector B (16P)(8)
      • Navigation display unit 32P connector(1)
      • Audio display-USB adapter control unit connector A (32P)(3)
      • Seat heater control unit 14P connector(4)
      Check for continuity to ground:
      There should be continuity.
       
      A short to ground in the B-CAN wire
       
      H5 PNK
      G2(5) BLU Parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector disconnected Check for continuity between terminal G2 and parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector terminal No. 6:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      G1(6) PNK Check for continuity between terminal G1 and parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector terminal No. 5:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      G2(6) BLU Headlight leveling control unit 16P connector disconnected Check for continuity between terminal G2 and headlight leveling control unit 16P connector terminal No. 10:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      G1(6) PNK Check for continuity between terminal G1 and headlight leveling control unit 16P connector terminal No. 9:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      G2 BLU Disconnect these connectors:
      • Parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector(5)
      • Headlight leveling control unit 16P connector(6)
      Check for continuity to ground:
       
      There should be no continuity.

      Check for continuity between terminal E32 and power seat control unit connector B (40P) terminal No. 22:
      There should be continuity.

      E31(7) PNK Check for continuity between terminal E31 and power seat control unit connector B (40P) terminal No. 21:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      Check for continuity to ground:
      There should be no continuity.
      A short to ground in the B-CAN wire
      E44(8) BLU Left power sliding door control unit connector B(16P) disconnected Check for continuity between terminal E44 and left power sliding door control unit connector B (16P) terminal No. 14:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      E43(8) PNK Check for continuity between terminal E43 and left power sliding door control unit connector B (16P) terminal No. 12:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      E44 BLU Rear fuse box connector B (38P) disconnected Check for continuity between terminal E44 and rear fuse box connector B (36P) terminal No. 17:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      E43 PNK Check for continuity between terminal E43 and rear fuse box connector B (36P) terminal No. 10:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      E44(9) BLU Power tailgate control unit connector C (14P) disconnected Check for continuity between terminal E44 and power tailgate control unit connector C (14P) terminal No. 2:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      E43(9) PNK Check for continuity between terminal E43 and power tailgate control unit connector C (14P) terminal No. 1:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      E44(10) BLU BSI control unit 16P connector disconnected Check for continuity between terminal E44 and BSI control unit 16P connector terminal No. 4:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      E43(10) PNK Check for continuity between terminal E43 and BSI control unit 16P connector terminal No. 3:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the B-CAN wire
      G2 BLU Disconnect these connectors:
      • Left power sliding door control unit connector B (16P)(8)
      • Rear fuse box connector B (38P)
      • Power tailgate control unit connector C (14P)(9)
      • BSI control unit 16P connector(10)
      Check for continuity to ground:
       
      There should be no continuity.
      A short to ground in the B-CAN wire
       
      E43 PNK
      G15 LT BLU Under all conditions Check for continuity between terminal G15 and data link connector 16P connector terminal No. 7:
      There should be continuity.
      An open in the K-LINE wire
      Check for continuity to ground:
      There should be no continuity.
      A short to ground in the K-LINE wire
      (1) With navigation
      (2) With 3 line type
      (3) With USB adapter
      (4) With seat heater
      (5) With parking and back-up sensor system
      (6) With HID
      (7) With DPMS
      (8) With power sliding door
      (9) With power tailgate
      (10) With BSI
  6. Reconnect the connectors to the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, and do the following input tests:
    • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
    • If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 7.
      NOTE: These are power tests for the multiplex integrated control unit.

      F24 WHT Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:
      There should be battery voltage.
      • Blown No. B16 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
      • An open or high resistance in the wire
      H7 GRN Ignition switch ON (II) Measure the voltage to ground:
      There should be battery voltage.
      • Blown No. C11 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
      • Faulty driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
      • An open or high resistance in the wire
      G7 GRN Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:
      There should be battery voltage.
      • Blown No. B16 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
      • Faulty driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
      • An open or high resistance in the wire
      E34(1) GRN Ignition switch ON (II) Measure the voltage to ground:
      There should be battery voltage.
      • Blown No. C11 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
      • Faulty driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
      • An open or high resistance in the wire
      G14 RED Ignition switch ON (II) Measure the voltage to ground:
      There should be battery voltage.
      • Blown No. C22 (15 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
      • Faulty driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
      • An open or high resistance in the wire
      H1 BRN In all ignition switch positions Measure the voltage to ground:
      There should be less than 0.2 V.
