DTC P0716 (6-Speed A/T)

DTC P0716  : Input Shaft (Mainshaft) Speed Sensor (Range/Performance)

NOTE:

P0716 Input Shaft (Mainshaft) Speed Sensor (Range/Performance)      

DTC (A/T)

  1. DTC check

    - 1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    - 3. Raise the vehicle on a lift. Make sure it is securely supported, and allow all four wheels to rotate freely.

    - 4. Start the engine.

    - 5. Disable the VSA by pressing the VSA OFF button.

    NOTE: Enter the VSA maintenance mode in case of the vehicle speed above 31 mph (50 km/h).

    - 6. Run the vehicle with the shift lever in D, and keep the vehicle speed at speeds over 12 mph (20 km/h) for at least 10 seconds. Slow down, and stop the wheels.

    - 7. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

    P0718 Input Shaft (Mainshaft) Speed Sensor (Intermittent Failure)      

    Is DTC P0718 indicated?

    YES 

    Do the troubleshooting for DTC P0718 .

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. Problem verification

    - 1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

    P0716 Input Shaft (Mainshaft) Speed Sensor (Range/Performance)      

    Is DTC P0716 indicated?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

  3. Input shaft (mainshaft) speed sensor connection check

    - 1. Check the input shaft (mainshaft) speed sensor for poor connection and proper installation.

    Is the connection and installation OK?

    YES 

    The connection and installation are OK. Replace the input shaft (mainshaft) speed sensor .

    NO 

    Repair faulty connection or installation.
