Mainshaft Disassembly and Reassembly: Reassembly: Procedure
NOTE:
Numbered call-outs in figure pertain to list numbers in following procedure

- Mainshaft - CheckNOTE:
Check the shaft splines for excessive wear and damage.
- 41 mm Sealing Ring - Install
- 32 x 40 x 23 mm Needle Bearing - Install
- Set Ring - Install
- 4th Gear - Install
1. Place 4th gear (A) on press bases (B). 2. Place a spacer (C) between the mainshaft (D) and a press to prevent damaging the mainshaft.
3. Install 4th gear using the press.
- 6th Gear - InstallNOTE:
- Check the 6th gear for wear and damage, and inspect the 6th gear bearing for wear and rough rotation.
- If the gear or the bearing is worn or damaged, replace the 6th gear.
1. Place 6th gear (A).
2. Press 6th gear into place using the 40 mm I.D. driver handle and the press.
- 3rd/6th Clutch - Install
1. Wrap the shaft splines with electrical tape to prevent O-ring damage. 2. Install new O-rings.
3. Remove the electrical tape.
- 3rd Gear Collar - Install
1. Place the 3rd gear collar (A). 2. Press the 3rd gear collar into place using the 40 mm I.D. driver handle, the 35 mm I.D. bearing driver attachment, and the press.
- 47 x 64 x 3 mm Thrust Needle Bearing - Install
- 42 x 49 x 23 mm Needle Bearing - Install
- 3rd Gear - Install
- 42 x 63.5 x 3.5 mm Thrust Needle Bearing - Install
