Engine Oil Jet Inspection (1.5L Engine): Inspection

1. Make sure that a 1.0 mm (1/32 in) diameter pin will go through the nozzle hole (A) (1.2 mm (0.047 in) diameter).

NOTE:  Check the direction of the key. When the key is installed, install the key as same direction of the original one. Replace the oil jet, if the nozzle is damaged or bent.

2. Make sure that a 1.8 mm (1/16 in) diameter pin will go through the oil intake (B) (2.0 mm (0.079 in) diameter), and the check ball (C) moves smoothly and has a stroke of about 2.0 mm (0.079 in).

NOTE:  Check the direction of the key. When the key is installed, install the key as same direction of the original one. Be careful not to damage the check ball.

3. Make sure that a 1.1 mm (3/64 in) diameter pin will go through the nozzle hole (A) (1.3 mm (0.051 in) diameter).

NOTE:  Check the direction of the key. When the key is installed, install the key as same direction of the original one. Replace the oil jet, if the nozzle is damaged or bent.

4. Make sure that a 1.8 mm (1/16 in) diameter pin will go through the oil intake (B) (2.0 mm (0.079 in) diameter), and the check ball (C) moves smoothly and has a stroke of about 2.0 mm (0.079 in).

NOTE:  Check the direction of the key. When the key is installed, install the key as same direction of the original one. Be careful not to damage the check ball.
