DTC P0A40: General Description

The power control unit (PCU) detects the traction motor position by the R/D converter based on the traction motor rotor position sensor signals. If any of following conditions continues for a specified time, the motor control module in the PCU detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

• R/D converter excitation abnormal bit is detected.
• Excitation output circuit short detection voltage is detected.
• Sine/cosine signal offset voltage abnormal is detected.
• Sine/cosine signal offset voltage upper limit abnormal is detected.
