Engine Oil Pressure Test: Test
If the low oil pressure indicator stays on with the engine running, check the engine oil level . If the oil level is correct, go to the next procedure.
- Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Sensor - Remove
- Engine Oil Pressure - Test
1. Install the oil pressure hose, the pressure gauge adapter, the A/T pressure adapter, the A/T pressure test hose, and the A/T low pressure gauge w/panel as shown, then install the rocker arm oil pressure sensor to the pressure gauge adapter.
, then start the engine. Shut it off immediately if the gauge registers no oil pressure. Repair the problem before continuing.
3. Allow the engine to reach operating temperature (fan comes on at least twice). The pressure should be:
Engine Oil Temperature: 176 deg.F (80 deg.C) Engine Oil Pressure
At Idle: 80 kPa (0.82 kgf/cm 2 , 11.6 psi) min. At 3, 000 rpm: 330 kPa (3.37 kgf/cm 2 , 47.9 psi) min. 4. If oil pressure is out of specifications, inspect these items:
- Oil filter blocked or plugged.
- Oil strainer blocked or plugged.
- Inspect the oil pressure relief valve .
- All Special Tools - Remove
- All Removed Parts - Install
1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
