DTC P0700 (2021)
DTC P0700: Transmission Control System (Mil Request)
General Description
The transmission control module (TCM) performs various malfunction detection and executes fail safe action according to the corresponding detected malfunction. If multiple failures are detected and the corresponding fail safe action is infeasible at same time (for example, a failure is detected to execute a fail safe action of 7th gear fix after detecting a failure to execute a fail safe action of 3rd gear fix), the TCM detects a malfunction stores a DTC.

Diagnosis Details* 1
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the A/T gear position indicator blinks and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the TCM memory. The MIL does not come on.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The A/T gear position indicator comes off by turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command.
Diagnosis Details* 2
Conditions for setting the DTC
