Confirmation Procedure

Perform the following procedures in order. If the failure is duplicated, the confirmation procedure is completed.

• Procedure 1
  • Start the engine and let it idle without load (in P or N).
  • DTC P0171: If the HDS [ST Fuel Trim B1] value is more than 1.25, the failure is duplicated.DTC P0174: If the HDS [ST Fuel Trim B2] value is more than 1.25, the failure is duplicated.

• Procedure 2
  • Start the engine.
  • Drive the vehicle at a steady speed between 15 - 75 mph (25 - 120 km/h) for at least 20 minutes.
  • Review the HDS [On-board snapshot] and record the value of [ST Fuel Trim B1] (DTC P0171) and/or [ST Fuel Trim B2] (DTC P0174) when the DTC P0171 and/or P0174 was set.
  • Test-drive the vehicle under the same conditions when the DTC P0171 and/or P0174 was set.

  • DTC P0171: If the HDS [ST Fuel Trim B1] value is more than 1.25, the failure is duplicated.DTC P0174: If the HDS [ST Fuel Trim B2] value is more than 1.25, the failure is duplicated.
