DTC P0390: Inspection

VCC10, CAMEXB2, SG10 Circuit Inspection 

NOTICE:  

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • CMP sensor B (Bank 2) connector (3P): disconnected
  • PCM connector E (114P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following chart.

			(Disconnected) CMP sensor B (Bank 2) connector (3P) female terminals	(Disconnected) PCM connector E (114P) female terminals

	VCC10 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ω
	CAMEXB2 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ω
	SG10 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ω
	VCC10, CAMEXB2 shorted wire to wire inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MΩ
	CAMEXB2, SG10 shorted wire to wire inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MΩ
	Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.
	CAMEXB2 shorted to power inspection	ON			Not shorted
	CAMEXB2 shorted to ground inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MΩ

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

CMP Sensor B (Bank 2) Inspection 

NOTE:  Since there is no direct method to test the inspection item, troubleshooting is performed using a known-good component.

Test Procedure 

• Install a known-good CMP sensor B (Bank 2) and attempt to reproduce the failure.

Results 

• If the failure is reproduced, there is a problem with other related components.
• If the symptom/DTC goes away, CMP sensor B (Bank 2) must be faulty.

PCM Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the PCM.
