DTC P055C: Inspection

Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Sensor Inspection 

NOTE:  Since there is no direct method to test the component itself, troubleshooting is performed on the related components.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • Rocker arm oil pressure sensor connector (3P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following chart.

			(Disconnected) Rocker arm oil pressure sensor connector (3P) female terminals
		IG Mode	Courtesy of HONDA, U.S.A., INC.	Normal Conditions
	Unit output voltage inspection	ON		About 5.0 V
		ON		About 5.0 V

Results 

• If it is normal, there is a problem with the rocker arm oil pressure sensor.
• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with other related components.

VCC11, POILCS Circuit Inspection 

NOTICE:  

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • Rocker arm oil pressure sensor connector (3P): disconnected
  • PCM connector E (114P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following chart.

			(Disconnected) Rocker arm oil pressure sensor connector (3P) female terminals	(Disconnected) PCM connector E (114P) female terminals

	VCC11 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ω
	Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.
	POILCS shorted to ground inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MΩ

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

PCM Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the PCM.
