DTC P1458: Inspection
FTP Sensor Functional Inspection
Test Procedure
- Preparation
- FTP sensor: removed
- FTP sensor vent hose: disconnected
- Procedure
- Connect the connector (3P) to the FTP sensor.
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Confirm the HDS [FTP Sensor (Fine)].
- Normal Conditions
- HDS [FTP Sensor (Fine)] does not vary 0.067 kPa (0.5 mmHg, 0.02 inHg) or more within 3 seconds.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the FTP sensor.
FTP Sensor Port Visual Inspection
Test Procedure
- Preparation
- FTP sensor: removed
- FTP sensor vent hose: disconnected
- Procedure
- Check for a blockage or damage at the FTP sensor ports. (EVAP canister side and vent side)
- Normal Conditions
- There is no blockages or damages.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the FTP sensor.
FTP Sensor Vent Hose Inspection (Blockage)
Test Procedure
- Preparation
- FTP sensor vent hose: disconnected
- Procedure
- Check the FTP sensor vent hose (A) for blockage or restriction.
- Normal Conditions
- There is no blockage or restriction.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the FTP sensor vent hose.
EVAP Canister Drain System Inspection (Blockage)
Test Procedure
- Procedure
- Disconnect the drain tube (A) from the EVAP canister (B), then connect the vacuum pump/gauge, 0-30 inHg (C) to the hose as shown.
- Apply pressure to the hose.
- Normal Conditions
- Pressure is not held.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the EVAP canister drain system.
EVAP Canister Vent Shut Valve Functional Inspection (Close Stuck)
Test Procedure
- Preparation
- EVAP canister vent shut valve: removed
- Procedure
- Connect the connector (2P) to the EVAP canister vent shut valve.
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Select the HDS [CVS ON].
- Check the EVAP canister vent shut valve (A) operation.
- Normal Conditions
- The EVAP canister vent shut valve is free of corrosion and operates properly.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the EVAP canister vent shut valve.
EVAP Canister Inspection
Test Procedure
- If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining EVAP canister is the cause.
Results
- There is a problem with the EVAP canister.
