Throttle Body Carbon Accumulation Check: Inspection

How to use this service information .

1. Throttle Body - Inspect

   Preconditions 

   • HDS Connected 
   • Engine Warmed Up
     NOTE:

     Warm up the engine by raising the engine speed around 3,000 rpm until the cooling fan(s) comes on.

   • Transmission P or N Position/Mode
   • Following No Load Conditions
     1. -

        Set the front wheels in the straight ahead position

     2. -

        Headlights OFF

     3. -

        Blower Fan OFF

     4. -

        Rear Window Defogger OFF

     5. -

        Air Conditioner OFF

     6. -

        Radiator Fan OFF

   Procedure/Specifications 

   1. Keep idling under no load conditions for 1 minutes or more.

   2. Select the following menu buttons on the HDS screen in sequence.

   • PGM-FI (System Selection Menu)
   • Data List
   • REL TP Sensor

   Specifications 

   HDS Item	Specification
   REL TP Sensor	Should be below 2.46°

   Result 

   • If the measurement is not within specifications, clean the throttle body - Refer to: Throttle Body Carbon Accumulation Check  or Throttle Body Cleaning .
