DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P1A48: General Description

The transmission control module (TCM) detects an abnormality by the correlation of the SBW shifter control module and parking actuator valve stroke sensor signals and the shift position command and indication. The SBW control switches the shift position/mode only when there is a signal from the SBW shifter control module. If any of the following conditions occur for a specified duration, the TCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

• The shift position/mode command changed from D or S to R with no signal input from the SBW shifter control module.
• The shift position/mode command changed from R to D or S with no signal input from the SBW shifter control module.
• The shift position/mode command changed from R to D or S while D or S to R is input from the SBW shifter control module.
