DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P2708: General Description
Shift solenoid valve F is installed on the valve body assembly. It is controlled by the ON/OFF signal from the transmission control module (TCM) to apply line pressure to the parking actuator valve via the parking inhibitor valve. The parking system is operated by driving the parking actuator valve with shift solenoid valves C, D, E, and F. The parking actuator valve stroke sensor which measures the stroke position of the parking actuator valve is structured by two systems as the sensor characteristics are shown as in the figure. When the stroke value of the parking actuator valve stroke sensor is approximately 5.4 mm (0.21 in) or more, the parking system is non-parking position, and when it is approximately -4.1 mm (-0.16 in) or less, it is in parking position. For detecting the malfunction, the TCM uses the values of the parking actuator valve stroke sensor and transmission fluid pressure switch A when the parking system is switch controlled to the non-parking position. If the parking actuator valve stroke sensor value is in abnormal range and transmission fluid pressure switch A is ON for a specified time when the parking system is switch controlled to the non-parking position, the TCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
