Power Window Motor Test: Test

How to use this manual .

NOTE:  If the door control unit is replaced, reset the power window control unit . If the original door control unit is installed, confirm that the power window works properly.

Driver's 

1. Driver's Power Window Motor - Test

   Preconditions 

   • Front Door Panel Removed
   • Power Window Motor Circuit Normal Condition

   Procedure/Specifications 

   1. Test the motor in each direction by connecting 12 volt battery power and ground to the connector according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect 12 volt battery power immediately. (Figure 1 and 2)

   • If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, then go to step 2.

   2. Test the motor by connecting 12 volt battery power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect 12 volt battery power immediately. (Figure 3 and 4)

   Result 

   • If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, the driver's power window motor is faulty; replace the driver's door regulator .
   • If the motor runs smoothly, replace the wire harnesses or adjust the driver's door glass .

   After Test 

   • Power Window Control Unit Reset 

   Front Passenger's 

2. Front Passenger's Power Window Motor - Test

   Preconditions 

   • Front Door Panel Removed
   • Power Window Motor Circuit Normal Condition

   Procedure/Specifications 

   1. Test the motor in each direction by connecting 12 volt battery power and ground to the connector according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect 12 volt battery power immediately. (Figure 1 and 2)

   • If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, then go to step 2.

   2. Test the motor by connecting 12 volt battery power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect 12 volt battery power immediately. (Figure 3 and 4)

   Result 

   • If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, the front passenger's power window motor is faulty; replace the front passenger's door regulator .
   • If the motor runs smoothly, replace the wire harnesses or adjust the front passenger's door glass .

   After Test 

   • Power Window Control Unit Reset 

   Rear 

3. Rear Power Window Motor - Test

   Preconditions 

   • Rear Door Panel Removed
   • Power Window Motor Circuit Normal Condition

   Procedure/Specifications 

   1. Test the motor in each direction by connecting 12 volt battery power and ground to the connector according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect 12 volt battery power immediately. (Figure 1 and 2)

   • If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, then go to step 2.

   2. Test the motor by connecting 12 volt battery power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect 12 volt battery power immediately. (Figure 3 and 4)

   Result 

   • If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, the rear power window motor is faulty; replace the rear door regulator .
   • If the motor runs smoothly, replace the wire harnesses or adjust the rear door glass .

   After Test 

   • Power Window Control Unit Reset
